Babereki
SACCOS was established as a result of Botswana Public Employee Union (BOPEU)
Congress resolution and was duly registered in accordance with the
Co-operatives Act, 2013 on 06th October 2015. It draws membership
across Botswana.
It runs
in accordance with the Co-operatives Act and the Bye-Laws as set by the members
and approved by the Co-operatives Development Director. It also has set
policies that guide the day-to-day operations of the Society
Babereki SACCOS invites applications from suitably qualified, experienced, self-driven and results-oriented citizens of Botswana for the position of Loan Assistant. This is an additional role within the Society and is intended to strengthen member assistance by helping members gather the necessary documentation and supporting Babereki SACCOS members throughout their loan application processes.
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The Loan Assistant
works closely with members to gather the necessary documentation and support
them throughout the loan application process. The role also involves assisting
with loan tracking and maintaining accurate loan records. In essence, the Loan
Assistant serves as a crucial link between Babereki SACCOS and its members by
facilitating access to loan products while promoting prudent lending practices.
KEY DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Front
office service to walk-in clients and potential members.
·
Build trust
relationships, customer loyalty, and satisfaction.
·
Assist new
members in filling out application forms – loans, membership and others.
·
Explain to members
the different types of Babereki SACCOS product options that are available, as
well as the terms of those products.
·
Reconcile member accounts and ensure
correct posting of loan and savings receipts and remittances.
·
Reconciliation
of member accounts.
·
Assist members
to complete loan contracts and advise members on the terms and conditions.
·
Processing
applications and documentation within specific limits.
·
Advise
members on their financial goals.
·
Give members
feedback on applications.
REQUIREMENTS:
Educational Qualifications
The ideal candidate must have a recognized;
· Minimum
requirements of a Diploma in Banking and Finance, Accounting, Business related
field from a recognized institute.
· Familiarity
with multi-line telephone systems.
· Knowledge
of MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and typing.
· Confident
communicator, both verbally and in writing.
- Good
working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and
Word.
- Experience
with loan management, accounting, or member administration systems will be
an added advantage.
Experience
·
A minimum of 2 years’ experience in lending, microfinance, banking, or a
SACCO environment.
·
Valid Class B
Driver’s license.
